Can you train like an athlete, even if you don't compete?

Can you train like an athlete, even if you don't compete?

It’s not very often that we appreciate or acknowledge the here and now in our fitness journeys! I always find myself saying things like ‘back in the day when I was crazy shredded’ or ‘when I used to be able to run 25km’ ?I know right. What the heck.

But I’m trying to change these habits and truly appreciate where I am NOW. Maybe not the fittest or the strongest, but I still have to appreciate that I can and am moving my body!

However, although I’ve been strength training 3-4 times a week, this by no means correlates to ‘shredded’. I try and train like an athlete so... I eat like an athlete. Aka LOADS of food. A few months ago I came to terms with the fact that I need a bit of fat on me in order for my body to run optimally and increase my strength. ☝? All of that Christmas feasting is going to good use and I think my abundance of energy during my workouts can definitely be attributed to extra food and carbs. ✌?I’m keeping it fresh, fun and flexible. Since January I’ve started incorporating a bit more cardio, hiit sessions on the treadmill, spinning classes and I want to start running regularly again. I love my strength workouts, but now that it’s the holiday season is over I would like to get fitter and leaner.

How I will lower my bf, increase my strength, become more flexible AND run faster and longer will all be included and revealed in my NEW ebook and blogpost that I am currently writing. ?? Is it possible to really have it all? ?
