LIFESTYLE

Have you stayed up late working all night long? Or maybe you had an insomnia crisis? We've all experienced sleepless nights and its effects. Puffy face, swollen eyes, dull skin with dark spots and under eye bags - these are the smallest issues caused by a lack of sleep. Today I’m going to show you a few simple ways to reduce and hide the consequences of a bad night's sleep and survive through the day.
A bad night's sleep can cause bloodshot eyes and puffy face. The reason why our face gets bloated after a sleepless night is hormonal malfunction. Unhealthy lifestyle and lack of sleep leads to the collection of extra fluids in tissues and causes swelling of the face and eyes in the morning. To reduce puffiness you can use tea bags, cucumber and zucchini slices, but nobody has time for that in the morning, especially if your routine got ruined with a sleepless night. You can easily solve this problem by throwing a couple of spoons in the freezer for five minutes and using them to freeze the puffiness, it is my favorite method! I struggle with red and puffy eyes in the summer and I can't hide myself from allergy. If you need some serious help with face swelling try using a Pore Smasher by Banish. This rolling massage tool reduces enlarged pores, puffiness and your face looks instantly refreshed.
You don't imagine what a 15 minutes of cardio exercises can do to your body! Cardio prevents stress, reduces body fat and fills your body with energy. Energy drinks and food can also help you and your body to wake up and make you feel better. Drink plenty of water to hydrate your body and skin, water is one of the best natural remedies to stay fresh.
Conceal Don't Feel
Nothing reveals a bad night's sleep like dark circle under the eyes. The skin around the eyes is very thin and tender, that's why it is easily affected by sleep deprivation. Of course it is impossible to make dark circles vanish forever in one moment, it is a complex problem and it needs a wide serious approach. But what we can't drive away immediately, we can hide with a help of foundation and concealer. Try to use a color correction method to beat dark circles under your eyes. Yellowish and orange shades help to conceal reddish-purple hue showing through the skin. Don't forget to apply concealer correctly: apply the product on the lowest part of the dark circle and gently pad the concealer with your ring finger. I love to use Catrice Re-Touch Concealer, it has a yellow undertone and doesn't crease under the eyes. To set the concealer on the place use a lightweight translucent powder, like this Mering Loose powder, the finer is the powder the better is the result.
Makeup Disguise
Unfortunately, you cannot follow your regular makeup routine in the days when you had a sleepless night. Tired skin, redness and dark spots on the face won't take a regular everyday makeup or classic smokey eyes and you will look even more exhausted. You can always use your favorite sunglasses to hide a bad night's sleep, but there are a few simple tricks that will make you look and feel well rested.
To refresh your complexion try to brighten your tired skin with some lively color - coral, peachy, baby pink. Avoid cold undertones and excessive contouring, it can make you look older. Instead try out a soft, subtle contouring technique. But on the other hand, you have freedom to play with highlighter! Add it on the highest points of your face - cheekbones, brow bones and on the cupids bow. Don't apply any eyeshadow or mascara on the lower lash line and under the eyes, instead of this step apply bright nude or white pencil on the bottom waterline. This will open up your eyes and make them look awake.
At the end of the day, don't forget to remove your makeup, have a nice long shower and your regular eight hours of beauty sleep. Healthy lifestyle is a guarantee of beautiful skin and good mood, that's why a good night of high-grade sleep should be your priority. I hope my tips will help you to get through the restless day and make you feel more refreshed. I'll talk to you very soon again!
