Steam pot, a clean and simple innovative brought into food. Today’s post, we are going to steam everything! Rong Fu Ji Steam Pot Restaurant 200 Turf Club Road,The Grandstand #01-14 S(287994). Open daily from 11:00am to 3pm and 5pm to 10:30pm. Call +65 9698 0710 to make a reservation now Located at The Grandstand, Rong Fu Ji Steam Pot restaurant is a humble Chinese looking place right in the center of the mall. The Grandstand is a mere 10 minutes’ walk from the Sixth Avenue MRT station, which is the nearest station. One can simply glance into the restaurant and see the steam pots prepared on the table, inviting you to utilize them. As the poster suggested, the ingredient and seafood used are fresh, unlike those from the supermarkets. As seen in various articles, steam pot is created for people to enjoy their meal and take care of their health at the same time. On top of that, the salivating seafood are locked in the utmost freshness so that you are able to taste the full flavor in every bite. Now for the interior: Decorated with a specific theme in mind, the decorations does reminds me of the invisible Su Wu Kong and the flying clouds. The place is sparkling clean and spacious and wheelchair friendly. Besides the chinese themed interior, what I like about it is the romantic outdoors restaurant space - right outside the window- suitable for couples and families who love to soak themselves into the breezy atmosphere there while having their meal. As seen, there are a number of sets for you to select from depending on the amount of people you bring. In this post, I will be covering on the $78 Base set. Many things in the set were replace due to the lack of ingredients then. Before the first course were placed, the raw ingredients for the last course were placed at the bottom to let it cook and set throughout the courses. The first course which we have would be the oh so fresh seafood: Flower Crabs Tiger Prawns Clams Scallops Wonder where the prawns are from? Fresh from their fish tank! Caught right before your eyes, skewered and served onto your plate. Put on the lid and let it steam for a while. There’s a timer and a instruction manual on the table so you can do all of this yourself too. With compliments from the chef, raw oysters were also given. After about 3 minutes, the food was steamed and it’s time for us to eat. I’m not sure if your waitress will help you cook the stuff but ours did - totally made us feel like royalties. What I like about this is everything tasted so fresh and clean. I love how the scallops were big and fleshy and the shrimps just taste fabulous. In fact I have never tasted shrimps so fresh in my life. Amazing! Plus the fragrant rice pot with herbal ginseng ingredients were evaporated through the metal holes and into the seafood, enhancing the flavor. The crab was also amazing with plenty of meat in it’s body to enjoy. Next course would be the fish. We got the Sea Bass. I love how the sea bass was only sliced and not seasoned except for the usual ginger and carrots slices. The meat was so tender and soft, and there was no fishy smell to it. It’s hard to even stop putting my chopsticks down. On top of that, I like how there were little to no bones in this fish for overly ‘boned’ fishes are one of the reason why I don’t really eat fish. Thereafter, it’s time for some vegetables. Love how the vegetables were so soft and sweet due to the corn in the pot. It’s so appetizing! Vegetables steamed: Corn Enoki mushroom Xiao Bai Cai Cabbage Carrots By this time we were rather full but we still have 2 more courses to go. This is the chicken course. I like how the chicken was steamed such that it was moist, tender and not over cooked at all. Finally, it’s the herbal Ginseng porridge where all the best juices from the top were mixed into the porridge. Mixed in the porridge were Chinese wolfberry fruit, spring onion, Ginseng and egg. This makes such a great combination to a porridge. I swear we were finish it if we were not this full! All in all Rong Fu Ji Steam Pot Restaurant creates a great and warm atmosphere for family gathering especially during the Chinese new year season. The cooked food is fantastic, affordable and so filling. Do visit their Facebook page HERE and make a reservation!
