5 Vegan Moisturizers You Must Try
**This post contains affiliate links**
Sometimes it's hard to find vegan skincare and sometimes is even harder to find a specific product, like vegan moisturizers, or vegan cleansers.
Why is it hard? I mean, it's easy to just look for the "cruelty-free" symbol on the package. However, that's not the only thing we must keep in mind when buying vegan skincare. There are many ingredients to look for on the products, plus some practices that might be tricky!
First of all, do your research! Does that brand sell products in China? If the answer is yes, then it's not completely vegan!
Why? Cause China is a country where testing products on animals is THE LAW.
Another thing to keep in mind is everything that has to do with ingredients, since there are some ingredients you might think don't come from animals, but they do.
What ingredients should you avoid when buying vegan skincare?
The most common ingredients you'll find in skincare, that are delivered from animals are the ones I mention below. We have to remember to avoid these ingredients if we want to buy vegan products.
- Glycerin: Used to soften the skin (you can find it with names such as Glycreth-26, Glycerides, Glyceryls, Ethylhexylglycerin, Polyglycerol.)
- Squalene: Used to moisturize the skin (you can find it as Shark Liver Oil, Squalane)
- Caprylic acid: Used as preservatives (also known as Caprylyl Glycol)
- Beeswax and Honey
- Milk Byproducts
- Gelatin (and any gelatin products in general)
- Stearic Acid: Mostly used on body creams.
- N-Acetyl Glucosamine: usually used in products that treat pigmentation and uneven skin.
- Keratin
Now, let's go into it! Here are my top 5 vegan moisturizers!
5 Vegan Moisturizers to Try Today
Truly Skin Facial Moisturizer
This product is a must if you want great hydration! It contains hyaluronic acid, which personally, cannot be out of the ingredients list whenever I'm looking for a moisturizer.
Truly Skin Facial Moisturizer is perfect to hydrate, give the skin a smooth look, and the best part? It's only $28! And I think that, for the price, it is such a great option when it comes to a moisturizer!
Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer by Biossance
Yes, I know I said Squalane wasn't vegan, but this one is, I promise. Squalane is delivered from shark oil, but there are vegan alternatives, like in this case, which is sugarcane.
This moisturizer helps to improve hydration, to calm the redness on the face, and it's a must-have for reducing pores sizes (tells you the girl who's always crying because of that!!)
Superfood Air-Whipped Moisture Cream by Youth to the People
I gotta be honest with this one. This is a product I only buy when I have a high budget for my skincare or when it's on sale since it's too expensive for me. It costs $48, and for someone who earns DOP and not dollars, that's like a lot.
However, the price is totally worth it! My skin ends up being so smooth and clear whenever I use this moisturizer. If I earned in dollars, I would totally repurchase this right after it's over.
e.l.f Happy Hydration Cream
My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE, Did I make it clear?
I mean, see this: your skin ends being so soft you wanna cry (at least I almost cried), especially if you have oily skin like me. This moisturizer doesn't let the oil come back to your face, and omg it's so great!
Also, the price! $5, literally!
What I don't like is the size. I wish it was bigger since it just lasts like a month, using it on your daily and night skincare routine.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
Another brand I love with all my heart and budget. Literally, my skincare routine right now consists of products from e.l.f and the ordinary. Their products are just so affordable and of high quality! The improvement I've seen on my skin since I started using them last year is so unbelievable!
This moisturizer is one of my favorites. I highly recommend it!
This is it! These are my favorite vegan moisturizers. I really recommend taking into consideration that I have oily to combo skin, and even though these products were perfect for me, if you have a different type of skin you might get a different result.
Do you have any favorite skincare products? Let me know in the comments! I want to know!
And don't forget to save this post for later so you can come back to it whenever you need it. Also, share it with your vegan friends! This will be a life savior!
