DIY Tie-Dye On A Tuesday!

During this incredibly stressful and unpredictable time I have been trying my best to stay positive for the girls. Viv doesn't have a clue what's going on, but Dee has been slowly putting things together and the isolation has been very tough on her. It's been a rollercoaster, but we are holding it together the best we can!

All my fellow mama's out there know that having a toddler at a time like this is challenging, to say the least...

    I think I hear "I'm bored" about 100x a day.

So today I decided we were going to go through all of our drawers, find some of our old graphic tees and sun dresses and we were going to do our best to try out this new "at home tie-dye" trend!

    Well... We did it!

I saw a lot of contradicting opinions on how exactly you should tie-dye your clothes, but we just went with it and she had a blast! I will say that some pieces turned out better than others, but overall I was pretty impressed!

I filled a glass spray bottle with a combination of bleach and water, and we just sprayed the solution right onto the clothes! We did it outside in the driveway to cut down on the smell and I saw somewhere that leaving the clothes to soak in the sun kind of helped to activate the bleach? Maybe that makes no sense, I have no clue. I'm new to this whole thing... Lol.

But we left them to soak for about a half hour, and then I rinsed each piece with cold water to get some of the excess bleach off before tossing them in the wash! I ended up having to run them through the wash twice because the bleach smell was still very strong, but after the second time through it was hardly noticeable.

Super fun way to spend the afternoon and an easy, affordable way to bring some life back into any old clothes you have just laying around! We only used bleach this time around but I just ordered THIS kit off Amazon for next time!
