The Stunning Dose of Colors Baked Browns Palette Review

The Dose of Colors Baked Browns palette contains 5 matte shades for a variety of beautiful sultry smokey to everyday neutral eye looks. The shades included in this palette are described as the following:

    • Tea Light – Off white
    • Deserted – Sandy Caramel Beige
    • Outdoorsy – Tawny peachy brown
    • Cherrywood – Reddish rusty brown
    • Rock Bottom – Chocolate Brown

The Baked Browns palette is available on their website and Ulta and retails for $32. Moreover, the palette is cruelty-free, talc-free and paraben-free.

The formula of these shades feels very soft, almost buttery. It’s a very smooth and pigmented formula as well. I had no problem picking up the product on my finger or my brush. The shades swatched beautifully on the arm as well as performed very well on the eyes.

I noticed that the Dose of Colors Baked Browns palette does have kickback in the pan. The formula is pretty powdery and you’ll definitely notice this when you put your brush or finger into the palette. However, with tapping of the brush, I didn’t have fallout on the face.

Since the formula is so soft and pigmented, I think it’s also more powdery. However, I don’t really mind it being more powdery. I feel like this is pretty similar to what I experience when using an Anastasia Beverly Hills palette. The palette is slightly more powdery than the average palette but it does have some great payoff. It is worth the mention though, because if you don’t like powdery palettes then I won’t recommend this one.

The shades are super easy to blend, are pigmented, smooth and great looking! I actually really like this palette and I love using it as my go-to daily neutral palette.

I felt the need to check if the prices for the Dose of Colors Baked Browns Palette is similar to other brands or not. I choose KKW Beauty and Natasha Denona to compare them with since they both have 5 pan palettes too.

    • Dose of Colors – $32 : 5 pans = $6,4 per 1.7g/0.06 oz.
    • KKW Beauty – $25 : 5 pans = $5 per 0.90g/0.03 oz.
    • Natasha Denona – $48 : 5 pans = $9.6 per 2.5 g/0.08 oz

In fact, I actually think the KKW Beauty palette is overpriced but that’s another discussion lol. As I compare these three, I think the Dose of Colors Baked Browns palette is fairly priced.

Overall. I’m glad I’ve bought this palette. The quality is what I’ve expected and I love using it. I do miss my metallics shades a bit but on the days I prefer a matte look, this palette is everything!

What are your thoughts on this palette? I’d love to know!
