Florence - a new fashion capital of Italy?

What comes to your mind when you think about Florence? Old Italian city, good coffee, gelato?

I'm lucky enough to spend these two weeks taking a fashion business administration course at Polimoda Fashion Design & Marketing School in Florence. Florence is indeed an amazing and extremely beautiful city. Even though it is very small and I would never think that it's been a capital of fashion in Italy and, according to Vogue, it might become a fifth fashion capital of the world in line with New York, London, Paris and Milan.

It's been a capital of trade and fashion shows for women's and men's apparel for years, and now it remains popular among fashionistas throughout the world, who come here for fashion conferences and presentations.

Furthermore, Florence is also a birthplace of several luxury powerhouses such as Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci, Ermanno Scervino (yes, who made a wedding dress for Kim Kardashian) and Salvatore Ferragamo.

So, if you want to have a good luxury shopping, you have to definitely visit Florence. As one of my Polimoda professors told us, sometimes the collections which are presented in Florence might not be presented in the rest of the world!

Make conclusions and definitely put Florence into your bucket list!:) If not for the luxury shopping, at least for unforgettable views and good coffee!
