New Zealand Northern Island. Part 1.
New Zealand Northern Island. Part 1.

    New Zealand

New zealand northern island. I’ve never experienced a country like New Zealand before. I think that’s hard to do, because there is nothing like it. You might drive through a forest which has hints of Canada. Walk across a desert that feels like Nevada. Hike into a jungle that might be something Indonesia has to offer. But the honest truth.. It’s New Zealand.

Our Journey started in Auckland where we drove up north to Waipoua forest. A forest that belongs to the ancient Kauri trees. A piece of nature that hasn’t been touched by humans.
After Waipoua forest we drove south towards Coromandel forest park, experiencing hot water beach (be on time!) and Cathedral cove. Even more south you’ll find a large geothermical area. Rotorua, Waimangu volcanic valley and Waiotapu… where the water is unrealistic blue or green. A place where steam rises from the rocks and lakes and mud boils in the depths of caves.

Due to the large amount of pictures I will explain more about the northern island in the next posts where we did the Tongariro crossing, visited mount Taranaki and lake Taupo
