Easy to Make Oatmeal Facial Spray - Only 2 Ingredients

A Facial Spray That Your Skin Will Love

I like to use skincare products with natural ingredients. Mostly, they seem more trustable to me so sometimes I make my own skincare products at home. Today, I want to show you how to make a facial spray at home. It’s easy to prepare and use. All we need are two ingredients: oatmeal and hemp seed oil.

This spray is great for all skin types, but it’s especially ideal for people with sensitive skin.

    I Love You, Oatmeal!

Oats are widely used ingredients for dieting and healthy-living. However, this time we are going to use it for our skincare product, not for breakfast. It’s beneficial for our skin as well as our metabolism. I really love it!

    Many, Many Benefits

    Cleanse

    • The zinc it contains can reduce inflammation and kill acne-causing bacteria. Oats help to treat acne, eczema, rosacea and sunburn.
    • Oats also contain saponins, which act like natural cleansers and remove the dirt and oil. It penetrates deep into the skin and cleanses the clogged pores. This helps to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads.

    Anti-inflammatory

    • Saponins are antioxidants that can cool down redness, dryness and symptoms of irritation.
    • Oatmeal’s mild pH also helps to calm down the inflamed skin.

    Balance pH

    • Additionally, oatmeal helps to normalize your skin’s pH level.

    Exfoliate

    • Saponins also have an exfoliating impact that can remove the old, dead skin cells on the surface. This leaves the skin feeling smooth and looking brighter.

    Moisturize and Protect

    • Oatmeal contains special proteins, which can help to maintain the skin’s natural barrier. This protects the skin from external factors such as pollutants and chemicals.
    • Thanks to its lipids, oatmeal has a moisturizing effect.
    • It contains lubricating oils, which are helpful for UV protection.

Nice to Meet Hemp Seed Oil

I learned about hemp seed oil’s benefits when I learned to make this facial spray. This oil is harvested by cold-pressing hemp seeds. (A little note: Cold-pressed oils are always better and healthier.) Even though they’re obtained from the same plant, hemp seed oil and cannabidiol oil are two different things. It’s better to consider this while buying. Hemp seed oil is widely used in cosmetic and nutritional products.

    Why Hemp Seed Oil

    Anti-inflammatory

    • This oil contains omega-6 and omega-3, which have anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore, hemp seed oil can relieve skin inflammation.

    Moisturize and Protect

    • Hemp seed oil also contains oleic acid (omega-9). It has an anti-aging effect that can reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
    • The linoleic and oleic acids it has can improve the skin’s health.
    • It’s rich in omega acids 3, 6 and 9. These help the hydration of the skin.
    • The stearic acid it has softens the skin.

    Antibacterial and More!

    • Hemp seed oil has antibacterial qualities and is also used for treating acne, eczema, rosacea and skin cancer.
    • It’s high in antioxidants like fatty acids and vitamins A, C and E.
    • Hemp seed oil helps to balance the skin’s oil production, so also can be used on oily skin.

    Preparation

    1. You need 2-3 tablespoons of oatmeal, 50 ml of water and a 30 ml small spray bottle.

    2.  In a small bowl, soak the oatmeal in water for 1 hour.

    3.  Filter the oatmeal from the water using a sieve and pour the water in the spray bottle.

    4. If you have oily skin, add 10 drops of hemp seed oil into the spray solution; use15 drops if you have dry skin.

NB: Apply the spray as many times as needed. Since there are no preservatives, the spray will last up to 3 days.
