I grew up and still live in a society with gender stereotypes, where a woman’s worth is often being measured by the man next to her. For some part of my life, I have unfortunately followed those biases just because I wanted to avoid being judged by the society.

As I grew older I started to oppose gender discrimination and started fighting for equal gender rights.

I was pleasantly surprised to come across with Fashion Potluck, which is the first female-based social media platform. It was created from the desire to have a nurturing place on the internet for women to freely express themselves.

I find the Fashion Potluck community and the message behind their work really amazing and inspiring. And in order to celebrate the Fashion Potluck Award Season, I would like to share with you my favorite 10 Female Empowerment Songs performed by female artists. 

These songs are all about strong, independent and powerful women who get back up even after being knocked down and who break the renowned stereotypes about women.

And as Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained:
