My Top 5 Skincare Products
With both my mom and dad being firm believers in skin care it was no surprise that I was introduced to moisturizer at a young age. Ever since then I have prioritized my skin and have continued to educate myself on various products and the positive impacts they can have on my skin. Although makeup can do wonders for covering up blemishes I always try my best to make sure that my skin is in its best condition prior to makeup. My skin is what I would consider to be combination and can often be sensitive to products. Due to this, it often takes me a while to find products that will not cause me to react negatively. That being said, I wanted to share with you my top 5 skin care products that are not only my go-to’s but have remained my fall backs over time.
My Top 5 Products:
1. Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm
Taking off you makeup is without a doubt one of the most important parts of ones skincare routine. But if I’m being honest, at the end of a long day the last thing I feel like doing is taking my makeup off, so having a product that makes this easy and enjoyable is a must. The Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm, being a cleanser and makeup remover has easily become one of my favourite makeup removers. The Cleansing balm gently melts aways all my makeup (even waterproof) and leaves my skin feeling silky and hydrated. I often find myself using waterproof mascara and this is one of the only makeup removers that can effectively remove my mascara without me having to scrub my eyes. Having a light citrus scent, it gives you that clean feel without an overpowering scent. Gentle and effective, this balm leaves me looking forward to taking off my makeup every night.
2. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser
Because at times my face can be dry and sensitive, I try my best to not over cleanse it as this only leaves my face feeling tight and dry. Described as a pH-balancing cleanser with 5 conditioners, the Milky Kelly Cleanser is perfect to give my face that refresh it needs without leaving my face feeling dry or tight. Made with saline, I never have to worry about getting stinging eyes and to be honest this still amazes me. Having a gentle rose scent this is the perfect night and morning wash to give your face the refresh it needs without stripping it of its natural oils. I also wanted to mention that because I use a makeup remover every night I don’t expect my cleansers to take my makeup off. And although this cleanser claims to remove makeup, this is not what I would recommend it for. Rather, this is perfect to give your face a refresh and remove what your makeup remover may have missed.
3. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
Moisturizer. The product that everyone should be wearing (yes that means guys too). My dad has always told me that you have to think of your skin like leather, if you don’t moisturize it it gets dried and cracked. Over time, our faces are no different. I have tried hundreds of moisturizers over the years, different price points, different brands, and yet theFirst Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is the moisturizer I always find myself going back to. Wether I’ve the harsh winter cold got the best of me or I used a product that was too intense on my skin, this is my reset product. It’s the product that I count on to restore my skin and bring it back to a good state. Being an unscented rich cream, it soothes and calms my skin unlike no other. Since this is a rather thick moisturizer it can feel rather heavy at first but is quick to sink in leaving your skin feeling moisturized and clean.
Bubblewrap is an eye and lip cream that is formulated to hydrate two of the most delicate areas on the face. It is never too early to start using eye cream, and just like your face, your eye area needs to also be moisturized. The Glossier Bubblewrap is light and layers amazingly under makeup to give a refreshed and hydrated complexion. Although most under eye creams are thick in consistency and made to be worn at night, Bubblewrap’s lighter and wearable formula means I can apply this both morning and night. The perfect eye cream to give your eyes the love they deserve.
5.Shiseido Broad Spectrum SPF 50+
UVA and UVB rays can be extremely damaging and can ultimately speed up the aging process (yes, that means more wrinkles and dark spots at a younger age). Having done my research I make it a priority to wear SPF everyday (even during the winter). Despite this, many SPF’s would either break me out or leave me looking like a white ghost. And since I don’t wear foundation, having an ashy base was not something I longed for. Having a velvety finish this SPF layers beautifully under makeup providing a natural glow. The Shiseido SPF 50+ not only didn’t break me out but due to its almost clear consistency it left no white cast whasoever. Being invisible, it is the perfect sunscreen for everyone no matter your skin tone. Sunscreen smell is something I really dislike, smelling more like a luxurious moisturizer than an SPF I have zero complaints when it comes to the scent of this product. And for my athletes or beach babes, this particular SPF has been formulated to become even more effective once it has come into contact with water or sweat. The perfect SPF for just about everyone.
