Summer is finally here! Vancouver basically goes from freezing to warm overnight. Spring isn’t a lot warmer than winter thanks to the ocean breeze and all that rain. How I envy those who live in places with glacial-pace seasonal changes! Not that I can complain right now – we’ve had almost two weeks of warmth and sun and it’s been glorious.
Summer makes everything better, even the old neighbourhood park I go to every day to walk Lady. I finally feel 100% comfortable being outside, and it makes me feel better in my clothes. Nothing beats feeling the sun on your bare legs. As much as I love getting all dressed up, there’s something so nice about just going out in a tee and shorts. Never one to keep it super basic, I chose a choker crop top & silver denim shorts for this look.
Some people find summer dressing boring because you can’t layer, to them I say focus on the details. Prints, cut-outs, embellishment, colours. There are so many options besides a white tee and plain pair of cut-offs. And the accessories! Hats, sunglasses, not to mention jewelry that’s actually visible and pretty much any shoe you want. What’s not to love?
Even though summer has just started it’s shaping up to be a good one. I’ve already been to the beach, dyed my hair pink (as you may have seen on instagram), saw the northern lights from my front door, and most exciting of all, we’re going on our next trip at the end of the week.
