DIY Red Raw Hem Jeans
Most of my jeans come from Topshop’s petite department, but there are a few exceptions. Like these red ones I bought after arriving luggage-less in Barcelona. All I wanted was to change out of the leggings I’d been travelling in for almost 24 hours. I loved the colour of these jeans so I decided it’d be fine to roll them up. But it was a significant amount of rolling and I found myself not wearing them very often because of it.
Then raw hem jeans became popular and the imaginary lightbulb lit up above my head. It was the perfect solution for my non-petite jeans. Since I made the cut I’ve been wearing my red raw hem jeans more often. I teamed up with fellow petite blogger Danielle of The Darling Edition, who also recently raw hemmed a pair of too-long jeans. Danielle focuses on pretty, classic and affordable style that anyone can get inspired from. She’s new to blogging but you can already tell her blog is the perfect place to go for all things feminine. Be sure to check out her blog and raw hem jean outfit below!
This was probably the easiest DIY ever. You can trust me because I’m not a DIY person. Is it just me or do the simple ones always require materials that are so not common household items? Anyway, for this all you need is scissors! I cut mine at the length they were rolled them up at to keep things easy. You can also mark the line (with chalk, a white pencil, or anything that will stand out but can be washed off) at which you want to cut to be extra sure they’re straight. After cutting I went over the hem with my scissors again to add some fraying and voila, the makeover was complete.
What do you think of raw hem jeans?
