Mario Badescu: Rose Hips Mask, Aloe Vera Lotion and Eye Cream Review

Summer is over and my tan is fading quicker than I have planned! However, this year, I have finally decided to stop complaining about the summer-fall transition and instead use this period to try out different cosmetics brand for this season. 

As I am on the journey of adopting beauty products which have a natural base and fewer chemicals, I am curious to try brands which I believe might fit this category. Although I am familiar with Mario Badescu, I have never actually tried any of their products and it seems like I rarely see any reviews about this cosmetics brand. I am very curious about brands I don’t encounter every day, so I have decided it is time to check this brand out ;)

Mario Badescu Rose Hips Mask - $20.00

Anyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely love anything which smells like roses, so when browsing through the Mario Badescu Face Masks, this indeed was my first choice, and a good one, I must say!

After summer, I always try to nourish my skin with some extra oil as the sun dries it out a bit. And since this Rose Hips Mask is a combination of rose extract and oil, it helped me restore a healthy glow. 

Do you also notice some discoloration spots after tanning? Well, you’re not the only one! Since this happens to me quite often, I always try to apply products which contain antioxidant Vitamin C that helps brighten my skin. After using the Rose Hips Mask, it helped minimize several discoloration spots and soften fine lines leaving my skin soft and fresh. 

How to use it: When applying face masks, I always prefer the ones which feel light on my skin, and the Mario Badescu does the job. It is very simple to use: wash your face with clean water, dry it, and apply a thin layer to your skin. Leave it for around 20 minutes and rinse well with warm water. Also, try to avoid the eye area to prevent any irritation.  

The mask comes in a nicely designed white bottle and I believe it will last up to 3 months if I use it once a week, which I find super economical!

Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Lotion - $15.00

Aloe Vera always sounds like a good idea! I have decided to try this Aloe Vera Lotion to add another refreshing product to my beauty bag, but to be honest, this product surprised me quite a bit. I expected it to be a lotion, but it is a cleansing product! 

When I tried it, it cleansed my skin and removed all dirt and makeup, leaving it refreshed. However, I don’t feel as if it improved my skin complexion that much besides removing all impurities. As Aloe Vera contains a rich source of antioxidants and vitamins that help protect your skin, it can also help reduce the frequency and appearance of acne. Because of this feature, I believe this product is more suitable for women with oily skin who suffer from different skin conditions.

How to use it: Apply the lotion using a pad after cleansing your skin. Use it twice a day, after your morning and evening routine.

If you’re looking for a product that will help you spot acne and act fast on it, then I actually recommend checking another product by Mario Badescu, the Drying Lotion.

Containing salicylic acid and calamine, it will help dry out blemishes, prevent acne spread and balance skin oil. To make the product as efficient as possible, you should apply it overnight and rinse off in the morning.
