Que Origin’s Lemongrass Potion Lotion Review | Sponsored

Potion Lotion, a love potion made just for your body. Why you might ask well because these are the most organic lotion you would ever apply onto your skin! Now back to the post.  Started as a humble company which produces organic shower baths, Que Origin is climbing up the ladder to produce more items such as body scrubs and now body lotions. Alike their shower baths, they produced 3 of their signature scent: Lemongrass, Lavender and Rose Geranium. In this Potion Lotion review, you’re going to need a cup of lemongrass drink for we’re going to be reviewing the lemongrass scent! Similar to Que Origin’s shower baths, the Potion lotion contains 100% naturally derived ingredients. That means no harmful chemicals and no animals by-products. With inspiration from how Kimchi preserves, Potion lotion use only naturally derived preservatives to preserve their products. The differences between their three varies, Oiless Satin, Potion 50 and Potion 100 would be their ingredients. As the Oiless Satin is more suited for those with oily skin or normal skin, it tend to have a more ‘lightweight’ ingredients list. Whereas, Potion 50 and Potion 100 have a similar ingredients list just that a different percentage is being placed in them. Ingredients in Potion 50 & 100 Oils: Apricot Grapeseed Sweet Almond Shea Nut Avocado These oils helps with moisturizing, soothing and calming of the skin. Botanical Infused Water: Chamomile Cinnamon Rosemary These help with hydrating, soothing, calming and astringent. Hydrolysed Proteins: Rice Wheat These helps with moisture seal. Ingredients in Oiless Satin Arrowroot powder - Astringent and Oil Balancing Ethylhexyl Olivate (from Olive) - Moisture Seal longer than Squalene Sunflower Lecithin - Moisturising and Hydrating Niacinamide Vitamin B3 - Anti wrinkle, Improve Skin Barrier Vegetables Glycerin and Aloe Vera Juice - Water Rentention Besides that, Potion lotion do contain stabilizing & emulsifying ingredients and preservatives -  Stabilizing and Emulsifying ingredients in the 3 lotions:  Plant Cellulose  Guar Gum (from Guar Beans)  Candelilla Wax Hydroxystearyl Alcohol Hydroxystearyl Glucoside (from Castor Oil & Sugar)  Preservatives are needed and a must for all products that contains water. The preservatives are both naturally derived: Radish Root Ferment Filtrate (from Radish) Gluconolactone (from Corn) The great thing about the Potion Lotion is they are 100% natural derived. In fact they are so natural that if you want a more natural product and functional as the Potion Lotion, you’ll have to formulate yourself and keep it in the fridge. In addition to that, the Potion lotion aims to penetrate deep into your skin and hydrate every follicle instead of just moisturizing the surface. As they say, moisturizing is so last year, now we’re moving onto hydrating! With natural oils as ingredients, that is possible.  On top of that, these natural oils also provides anti-aging properties. A unique fact about Potion lotion’s formula is that they include ingredients which are mostly found in our face and eye creams into the body lotion - Niacinamide Vit B3, Hydrolysed Wheat Protein, Hydrolysed Rice Protein. That means, I can apply this lotion as a moisturizer or eye cream! - this is a very impulsive thought but for the sake of your face please don’t take my impulsive idea into consideration. Now, moving on to each individual lotions.  Oiless Satin More suitable for those with oily to normal skin type  Contains no oil thus having a smooth satin finish My Verdict Out of the 3 variants, I like this the most. Firstly, I find that the Oiless Satin absorbs into my skin very quickly thus it’s suitable for me to put on sunscreen onto my skin thereafter. Next, my skin feel so hydrated, smooth and light after absorption that I sometimes wonder if the product is even there. This effect is great especially for the hot and humid season in Singapore - where you want your skin to be hydrated but not too much that you feel that you’re going to sweat it all out.  Thus, I would say that this is a huge must-haves for all of you people living in a hot and humid country like me. Potion 50  More suitable for Normal Skin  Contains 5 types of oils at half of Potion 100 My Verdict As expected, Potion 50 feels significantly thicker in consistency as compared to Oiless Satin. It does not absorbed as quickly as the Oiless satin does thus it does sit on your skin. However due to that fact, my skin felt more protected from the dryness of the weather and the air-conditioning after using this.  This is more suitable for those whom are going through the December cold/raining season - like me - or have a normal skin type and wants to use this as a night body lotion.  Potion 100  More suitable for those with dry skin  Contains 5 types of oils to the maximum percentage of a stable formulation My Verdict This is the best product for people who spend a lot of time in air conditioned places eg. The Office or are going through the winter season. It have full protection for your skin and stops your skin from drying out. Who needs hand lotion when you have this all in one Potion lotion! On the other hand, Potion 100 does feel rather thick and more suited for you to stay indoors rather than head out into the sun after you apply it.  Therefore, I would recommend Potion 100 to those whom sleep or spend a lot of time in air conditioned places, those whom are going to embrace winter and those with dry skin. Hi hairy arm, we’re back  As you can see from above, Oiless satin seemed like a more light weighted formula as compared to the other two. Thus, I would say that each lotion is cater to each individual environment and skin type. Lifespan Before opening the lifespan of the product is 1 ½ years. Once open, we advise use to finish them within 6 months.
