Revlon Hair Dryer and Volumizer Review | Is It Worth the Hype?

Revlon Hair Dryer and Volumizer Review | Is It Worth the Hype?

This past month, I had a self-declared hair crisis. Looking in the mirror, I was simply not happy with my hair and knew I needed a change- I just didn’t know what that change should be. I immediately booked an appointment at a nearby salon and told my hair stylist all of my problems, describing how I flat ironed my hair almost every day and that it was looking too drab. She assured me that she could restore volume and shine to my hair during our appointment, but shared with me that the way I could improve my hair long term was ditching my straightener and instead turning to a blow dryer. As someone who has blow dried my hair maybe only a handful of times throughout my life, she recommended Revlon’s One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Brush to me. Because it is a brush that blows air out in between the bristles, it eliminates the hassle of coordinating a blow dryer and brush in each hand, instead combining the two into one easy to use product. I decided to give it a try and ended up purchasing the dryer brush for myself.

    Difficulty Level

As I mentioned before, the way the product is designed is supposed to make it easy to use, so beginners should not have a problem styling their hair with it. I found this to be true, as after watching one YouTube video demonstration I was able to use the hair dryer on my own hair effectively. The brush works to both detangle and dry your hair as you use it, and I found the whole styling process to be much smoother with only one item needed in my hands. I just acted as if I were brushing my own hair regularly, but slowed the process down and took my time for each section.

    The Process

To style my hair, the only other tools I grabbed to use with the brush were hair clips, and with these I sectioned my hair off. This made the process even easier because I was able to dry small pieces of hair at a time, working from the inside out. From start to finish, the whole process took me about 15 minutes- I started with damp hair, after letting my hair air dry for roughly 30 minutes after getting out of the shower.

    The Prices

I purchased Revlon’s One-Step Hair Dryer from Amazon for $41.99, but it is available at a variety of different price points depending on where you choose to buy it from. I’ve compiled a list of several places it is available to order from online here, in order from lowest to highest price:

    CompanyPrice
    Bed Bath & Beyond$41.99
    Kohl's$47.99
    Walmart$48.88
    Ulta$59.99

You can also find several listings of the brush on Mercari and Poshmark for further discounted prices.

    The Results

When I first began to use the dryer brush, I was not getting exactly the results I had hoped for. However, I realized that each time I used it, I could see improvements in the way my hair looked. Now that I have been using it for almost a month, I can see a significant improvement in the volume and health of my hair when compared to how it looked when I would flat iron it. Revlon’s One-Step Hair Dryer has helped me restore my hair and given me the look I wanted. Here are some before and after pictures of others who have used the brush:

    Conclusion

Overall, I would highly recommend this product if you are looking to switch from flat ironing to blow drying, or if you’re just looking for an easier way to style your hair. Revlon’s One-Step Brush gives you volume, sleekness, and efficiency all in one! There are virtually no cons with the product and I see myself utilizing it for years in the future.
