For a few months now I have been on the hunt for the perfect liquid eyeliner.
It all started when my Stila Liquid Eyeliner dried up for the third time. I loved this eyeliner because of its sharp tip that made a defined cat eye. However, I was fed up with it constantly running out of ink. I tried the Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Eyeliner from Selena Gomez’s makeup collection and was extremely disappointed (More on that in my next post!) as well as some Sephora Collection eyeliners which didn’t work as I'd hoped.
Finally, during my search, I came across a Sephora employee with gorgeous winged eyeliner. She recommended the Patrick Starrr Point Made 24-hour Liquid Eyeliner Pen from the One/Size makeup line.
When it comes to celebrity makeup lines, products can often be a hit or miss. Celebrity makeup artist, Patrick Starrr’s eyeliner was definitely a hit.
There are a few factors I look for in a great liquid eyeliner: easy to use, long lasting, and very pigmented. The Point Made eyeliner matches all of these criteria.
Easy to use
I used the eyeliner on my top lid and to create a wing. The sleek red packaging made the pen easy to hold and keep steady as I evened out my eyes. Many felt tip liners can be difficult to use due to clunky packaging or they become stringy at the tip of the brush. The tip of this eyeliner stayed sharp and the eyeliner was evenly distributed throughout the pen.
How it wears
The liner lasted all day and didn’t even smudge when I took a quick, two hour power nap. The liner does not advertise itself as waterproof but was able to withstand a little bit of water. The pigmentation never faded yet at the end of the night it came off easily with makeup remover.
With a price of $19, Point Made is a little bit more expensive than some of the other popular eyeliners on the market. However, I think the price is worth it due to the product being both vegan and cruelty free.
The brand’s message
One of the most important things I look for in a makeup product is the brand’s message. The eyeliner being vegan, cruelty free, and free of parabens makes me more comfortable supporting the makeup brand. With so many different products out there, it’s become increasingly important to be aware of the origins of your products, and for me that means sticking to clean makeup items.
If you decide to purchase, please send me any looks you’ve created with the eyeliner! I’d love to see them :)
