TRAVELS
take a trip with me: NYFW
NY, NY
New York Fashion Week
Where do I start....
This year I traveled to New York City to attend my first ever New York Fashion Week with Sherri Hill! It was an absolute dream come true. People kept messaging me and telling me, "Brenli, you're literally living my dream" and all I could reply with was, "I'm seriously living my OWN dream!"
Thursday
I started the trip by flying out of OKC on a Thursday morning at 5am.... Thanks for waking up to take me Scott! Hahahaha. I had a stop in Detroit, to which I had to run across terminals to catch my second and final flight. And when I say I've never been so out of breath, I MEAN IT. Regardless, I made it to the concrete jungle.
That night day we visited the Top of the Rock, which I highly recommend if you've never been to NY. Its a tourist staple trip and the view is unlike anything you'll ever see again. After that we ate at the Butcher's Daughter, which I 100% believed to be organic.... no, apparently its just what healthy people eat! Needless to say, it had the best mac n cheese!
Lastly, we stopped to get cereal ice cream. Its just as sweet as it sounds, if not more. I got Vanilla ice cream blended with Cocoa Puffs, Brownies and Cookie Dough and a pink vanilla cone. When the sign says, "Treat Ya'self", you have to! My outfit included a black, jersey knit dress from Amazon, black cat eye sunnies from Amazon and some sneakers from Shein!
Friday, show day!
Friday was the day we had all been waiting for! We got up, got ready, drank some champagne and headed off to live out our dream moment. To start off, it was completely pouring outside. We took a taxi and showed up 20 minutes late, but the good news is everyone else was struggling, too! We spent hours taking pictures, so naturally I included only 1 below:
We rehearsed the show, helped get things in order, watched BeBe Rexha rehearse and around 5:30pm began waiting for all the guests to arrive. Miss Universe, Miss America, a bunch of Miss' and Teens from different states, Suede Brooks, the winners of Love Island, all my favorite bloggers and even more people came and it was so neat meeting them!
During the show I assisted with taking photo and video for social media, so I was right at the front of the runway! After the show we went to the after party and mingled!
Saturday
Saturday was jam packed! We really took advantage of seeing the city and taking allll the pictures! We woke up and had brunch at Bluestone then walked through Central Park. Afterward we went to the Camp exhibit at The Met.
The Camp exhibit was the most incredible thing I've ever seen. I absolutely loved it! I got to see so many designs that were so extreme and so fun. I attached some of my favorites below!
After the Met we went to Soho and shopped! This is where I got my embroidered jeans from Zara, which you can find on my Instagram.
I am so overly thankful for this opportunity. New York Fashion Week is something I have dreamt about doing since I was 12 and I'm so fortunate to be able to say I've gone at only 21 years old.
Thanks for reading! More to come.
xoxo,
Brenli
