My favorite bags as IT pieces

In the last couple of years I became somehow obsessed with purses and created a small collection with some of my favorite styles, colors and brands. I still dream of buying some of the “big” names, but at least for 2020 and the world wide situation I will postpone that idea.

Taken from the years when I was a little bit heavier, I discovered that the accessories that are the easier to buy online and that I will never grow out of, are shoes and bags. The second category being the closest to my heart, I started to add each couple of months a new piece to my wardrobe. Many of them are now sold or donated, since I no longer liked them, but others are still very much my favorites.

    1. My precious Stella Mcartney

One of my favorite bags that blends very well with my casual style, the Falabella bag is the perfect “IT” accessory.

    2. Kate Spade multi-color bag

A pop of color is the best way to cheer a day. This was one of the first “designer” bags that I bought while I was on a client visit in Chicago. I was so happy when I found it and fell in love with it immediately. It can elevate any outfit and I always get so many compliments on it.

    3. Marc Jacobs - camera bag

Have to admit I wanted this bag for so long that I loved it with all my heart when it arrived. To me it brings the casual look to my “sporty” outfits and it’s so convenient to wear as a cross body bag. Additionally it fits a lot of items in it.

    4. Wood and leather = love

Not the combination that you would expect in a bag, but a great idea indeed. Made by a local shop, it has the “it” factor that I am always searching for. The color combination is awesome and I like that I can wear it on the shoulder or by the short strap.

    5. Camel ribbon bag

A no name bag, that I loved and wear all the time. Last year it was my go to work handbag, but all I found myself reaching for it in my free time. I think it still holds the record as my most worn accessory.

Designer or not, I think the focus should be on the quality of the materials and the way it complements your style. As much as I would love to say that the bags that I love the most are one carrying a “big” name, that is not true. Furthermore, I found that I love more the fact that I can wear them without being afraid of ruining them, than the ones that I have to be extra careful with. So keep that in mind if you plan on starting a collection.
