The viral ‘Hair Blinger’ | 2000's Nostalgia
It’s been a while since I last posted here on Fashion Potluck but I am excited to be back. I am also delighted to see the latest feature of publishing video content is now here.
Personally, I have been loving creating and posting video content for the likes of TikTok, Instagram reels and even YouTube shorts, and I know it’s only going to enrich the quality of content we consume on Fashion Potluck too.
With that being said, I guess I should post my first video here, right?
As previously mentioned, I have been enjoying a lot of video content recently and in particular, watching that content on TikTok.
Now, if you know TikTok and have some knowledge of the way its algorithm works, you’ll probably know about the FYP (For You Page) feed and how it generates specific content for you. Naturally, the more similar content you consume, the more of that you will see and there has been one product that I have constantly seen on my TikTok feeds and that is the viral ‘Hair Blinger’.
What is the Hair Blinger, you may ask? Well, it’s basically a hair tool that allows you to secure hair gems to your hair. The type of thing we all wanted as kids back in the 2000’s. Only now it has made a comeback and is looking likely to become the staple for festival hairstyles this Summer.
But does it really work? I bought one and put together a sort of, first impression/review video. Check it out to see if the trend from the early 2000’s belongs in 2022.
Lizzie McGuire vibes, anyone?!
