My Experience With L’Oréal Infallible 24H- Matte Foundation

My Experience With L’Oréal Infallible 24H- Matte Foundation

    Hi everybody!

For many years I avoided using foundations because my skin reacted negatively when I used one. Most of the time, the foundations caused excessive oil production or pimples on my skin. I haven’t tried too many different foundations so far, but I finally had a positive result; no oily appearance or pimples like the ones before. So I believe, it’s worth talking about: L’Oreal Infallible 24H- Matte Foundation.

    24H-Matte, Really?

This foundation offers a matte look for 24 hours. The packaging promises “mattifying infallible foundation” and their website says you will get “All the comfort, none of the shine. Perfect coverage and no cakey effect”.

Infallible sounded like a huge claim and I was skeptical. I have combination/oily skin that can get very oily toward the end of the day. I decided to try it out. For me, the matte finish lasted about 5-6 hours. Since I don’t like having a shiny T-Zone, I mostly prefer to freshen it up, but you can use a translucent powder on top to control the shine. Even so, L’Oreal Infallible 24H- Matte Foundation’s matte finish stays for a longer time than the previous foundations I had.

    Formulation

The foundation is pretty liquid, which makes it easy to apply. I prefer to apply it with my fingers, but it works with a beauty blender or a brush as well. Now, maybe you are thinking “this girl is using her fingers for makeup in the 21st century?!?! I know, I know, but it’s just better for me and I feel like the beauty blender or the brush absorbs half of the foundation.

It doesn’t dry immediately, which allows you to blend properly. You know the feeling when you apply liquid foundation and it dries after 2 seconds, leaving you with streaks or blotches all over your face? In my head I can hear you going “yessss!” Well, this product is not like that unless you just sit there twiddling your thumbs for 2-3 minutes. The L’Oreal Paris website says the product is waterproof, which you can’t see from the package. I believe it’s always better to mention these kinds of details on the product.

    Coverage

The formulation has a thick consistency. I believe this is the reason behind its full coverage. It covers my redness and gives an even tone. Despite the thick consistency, it feels light and smooth on the skin.

    Package

The foundation comes in a 35 ml plastic squeeze tube. It’s a travel-friendly size and easy to carry in your makeup bag.

The product doesn’t finish quickly. I don’t apply foundation every day, but even if you do, you can use it for more than 2 months.

    Color

Infallible 24H- Matte Foundation has 6 different colors. They are “10 Porcelain”, “11 Vanilla”, “12 Natural Rose”, “13 Rose Beige”, “20 Sand” and “30 Honey”.

I use “11 Vanilla”. It’s useful to note that when you first apply the product, it looks like a lighter color than your skin tone. However, a few minutes after application the foundation color deepens to match your skin color.

    Price

The price is a bit higher than many of the drug store foundations, but the product is on sale very often. It’s around $20 in the USA, £7 in the UK and €10-13 in Europe. You can use the product for a long time, so it’s worth buying.

    My Notes

Please keep in mind that, for makeup and skincare products, nobody can guarantee that you will get exactly the same results as someone else. A foundation may cause acne for one person and not for another. I get good results with this product and I can recommend it to others with oily/combination skin.
