Holiday season preparation

We are just a few weeks away from my favorite time of the year, Christmas time, and since we are all waiting for the dreadful year of 2020 to be over, we should at least give the holiday spirit a chance to make our lives better even if we are looked inside. Here is my plan for the 2020 Christmas time.

    1. Christmas tree in November

Growing up, the Christmas tree was always decorated on the 24th to be ready for Santa to place his gifts under the tree for me. Today this tradition is starting a lot earlier in the year, to be more precise at the end of November.

I bought my tree a few days ago and I plan on decorating it 2 days before the 1st of December, just to be able to enjoy its presence for a longer period of time.

    2. Family of friends

Since the pandemic took over, visiting family was not always possible, especially if they are not living in the same city, therefore new traditions need to be born. It’s said that the family we chose is the one created by friends, so I plan on letting them surround me in these odd times.

    3. A little bit of fantasy to make real-life bearable

A few months ago when Emily in Paris got broadcasted on Netflix I was both impressed by the series and surprised by all the “mistakes” and assumptions that were made. Even so, it was a good way of spending some time and forgetting about everything, therefore I decided it is finally the time to resume and finish two series that I keep on watching and then stopping, the double G’s: Gossip Girl and Gilmore Girls.

    4. Being my own Santa

It was a difficult year, at least for me and I know I have been shopping and wasting money on a lot of s*it, yet I do believe that we sometimes need to blow off some steam and try to indulge. This year I already know what my presents will look like, so it’s just a matter of days until these will be placed under the tree.

    5. Holiday books and rom-coms

Well,  we finally got to one of the most uplifting ways to start off the holiday season and that is reading a good winter / Christmas book or look at a cute and easy to digest movie. If those are comedies, even better. I do not know why, but I just love the feeling that I get after they end.

So let the most wonderful time of the year begin.
