Lazy girl's guide to fall outfits

Since 2020 is a crazy year and most of us are still working from home in our PJ or very casual outfits, we could feel overwhelmed when we want to go out and look put together. So here are my go to outfits when I don’t feel like investing a lot of time in getting ready.

    1. All black with cardigans or trenches as “it” pieces

There is no easier way to look put together than the all black outfit. A pair of black jeans and a black turtleneck are the best alternatives when it comes to getting out of the house asap.

Since we do not want to look like we are going to a funeral, we should play with the outerwear and try to get some ‘it’ pieces that will catch the eye of a viewer.

    2. All white with accessories as “it” pieces

The more elevated look, would be to switch from black to white and try to go for neutrals for coats/cardigans or accessories. I do not believe in the rule of “not wearing white after labour day”, probably because in Romania labor day is in May. So I do wear white all year round. The only issue with white is that I need to stay away from food or coffee since I do have a talent of spilling those on my clothes.

    3. French casual outfits

When in Paris I noticed that people look very put together and polished while still being comfy and casual. I saw more people wearing casual outfits than the off the runway ones. The best way to get that style would be to incorporate a hat or a striped sweater. Or why not both.

I do love the way the french people embrace fashion and comfort at the same time.

    4. American style

In the definition of the casual style I think the american style would be the best way to explain this. I love to get that look by using a pair of sneakers and a hoodie. Adding a pair of jeans to that and I am off the door.

    5. LBD in a casual manner

Basically the ultimate lazy girls outfit would be this one, grab a casual little black dress, a pair of Converse sneakers and you are off the door. If it’s cooler outside I love to add a jeans jacket to this. Simple, casual, comfy and imo stylish.

Last year I was all about getting the best looks and trying to repeat myself as less as possible, yet this year I feel like I do need a backlog of very easy to put together outfits that I can easily put on when I try to run to the stores or run some errands. Clearly I would not recommend you wearing those on a date night or at a fancy restaurant, but these might come in handy during the upcoming transition months.

That beret & marinière T-Shirt look is awesome, and it suits you very well! (Love the flats there too.) I had to laugh out loud a bit at the Labour Day rule- very good point, I think we'd be quite miserable in Europe if we were to follow it.
